Disposal Caverns - CCS' unique design allows for an efficient and reliable method of processing waste materials with brine water prior to injection into the underground salt caverns. Located approximately one mile (approximately 1.6 km) below the surface, the caverns provide environmentally sound disposal for liquid wastes.
NORM Disposal - CCS has established Canada's first and only permanent disposal of naturally occurring radioactive material (NORM) associated with crude oil and natural gas production. Throughout designated cavern locations, CCS' experienced personnel offer the most cost-effective and the lowest-risk NORM disposal available.
Crude Oil Storage Caverns - Capitalizing on the innovation of disposal caverns, CCS opened the Hardisty, Alberta storage caverns in 2003. The facility operates as Hardisty Caverns Limited Partnership (HCLP) and is a joint venture between CCS and Enbridge Inc.
